Do you volunteer with Habitat for Humanity of Collin County as part of an Organization, Church, or Official Team? Join your Group for Reserved Volunteer Opportunities. Until you join your group, you will see any reserved dates marked as 'full'.
You can be in multiple groups. Simply search for your group by name and/or keywords in the name upon registration! OR
Once you've logged in on the Volunteer Calendar:
Click 'My Profile, Schedule, Groups, Hours, etc.'.
Click My Volunteer Groups
Either Search for your group or Create a new volunteer group
Who Should Create a New Volunteer Group?
Only Group Leaders should create a new volunteer group. All new groups and reservations made for groups are pending administrative approval.
Can I add members to my Group?
Yes! If you are the Group Leader, and already have a list of emails for your Group members, you can manually add these in yourself by:
Clicking 'My Profile, Schedule, Groups, Hours, etc.'.
Click My Volunteer Groups
Click your Group Name
Paste your Group Member Email Addresses in the box on the right hand side. If you have an excel sheet, you can simply copy your email address column and paste directly here.
Click Add New Group Members
If a Group Member is already in our database, adding their email address will link their Profile to the Group you've created.
If a Group Member is not already in our database, adding their email address will prompt an automatic Welcome email to the Volunteer.
AGE RESTRICTED ACTIVITIES:
-Youth 14 -17 years must have a parent or guardian with them to volunteer on any Construction project.
-Youth 14 -15 can landscape, paint, or lot clean.
-Youth 16 -17 cannot use power tools, work from a height of over 6 feet or other ultra-hazardous tasks.
-Youth 16 & up may volunteer in ReStore without a parent.
-Youth must be 14 to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity of Collin County.
SUGGESTED ITEMS TO BRING TO THE WORK SITE/CLEAN UP SITE:
Closed-toe shoes (sandals not allowed)
Sun Hat/Sunscreen/Bug spray
Your health insurance card (in case of an emergency)
Tools, if you already have them (labeled with your name)
Lawn Chair (lunch)
o Face coverings shall be worn by all employees and volunteers, unless working alone or in a location or vehicle separated from others or while eating or drinking while adhering to social distancing requirements. We ask that all employees and volunteers provide their own face coverings as a very limited supply will be available from Habitat for Humanity of Collin County Staff.
o For recurring volunteers such as “Build Crew, Houseleaders, and Crew Chiefs,” PPE such as work gloves, safety glasses and hard hats shall be provided to each individual for that individual’s use only. For one-time or “general” volunteers, PPE with the exception of face coverings shall be issued the morning of work and returned upon completion of the work day. Used PPE shall either
be disinfected, disposed of, or quarantined per CDC guidelines by construction staff.
o Hand washing stations and hand sanitizer shall be made available in easily accessible locations on each volunteer build site.
o Food and beverages shall be in individually wrapped/contained servings, with no self-serve options for food or beverages available; sponsors/volunteer groups shall designate 1-2 of their participants to be servers, with those individuals following CDC protocols for social distancing and hand sanitization.
